Cowgirl Basketball Set For Road Contest Against Boise State

The Wyoming basketball team will play the first of their final two road games on Saturday against the Boise State Broncos. The game is set for 2:00 p.m. at Taco Bell Arena in Boise. Live stats can be followed or audio can be found on www.wyomingathletics.com.
Wyoming is currently 11-14 overall and 7-5 in Mountain West play after 68-55 loss against the league leading San Diego State Aztecs on Tuesday night. The Cowgirls are led by Chaundra Sewell who is averaging a team high 13.2 points and 8.6 rebounds. Freshman Kayla Woodward follows with 12.2 points and 5.6 rebounds, while junior Ashley Sickles is adding 12.0 points plus 6.0 rebounds per game. As a team, they are shooting 522-1314 (.397) from the field and 117-412 (.284) from beyond the arc.
Sickles currently ranks fifth in minutes played, tenth in rebounding and blocked shots and 13th in scoring. Sewell is among the Top 15 in points, rebounds, assists, blocked shots and field goal percentage. In league games, Woodward is fifth in field goal percentage, rebounding and minutes played, sixth in scoring, eighth in steals and three point field goals made and 13th in assists. She has also recorded double-figures in 10 of 12 games during conference action as well.
Boise State is 13-14 overall and 4-8 in the Mountain West. They lost to UNLV by a final of 75-66 on Wednesday night. Kati Isham is averaging a team high 14.6 points along with 3.0 rebounds. Lauren Lenhardt is adding 14.5 points while Nicole Brady is averaging a team high 6.8 boards per game. They return four starters and eight letterwinners to a team that went 12-17 overall and 6-10 in the Western Athletic Conference a year ago.
This is the ninth meeting between the two teams. The series is tied up at four all. The last time the two teams met was January 28, 2012 as the Cowgirls defeated the Broncos, 84-64, in Laramie. Boise State is coached by Gordy Presnell who is in his seventh season with the program.
