The top-seeded San Diego State women's basketball team opens the 2012 Conoco Mountain West Basketball Championship on Wednesday, as the Aztecs take on the No. 8 seed Air Force Falcons beginning at noon PT. The game will take place at the Thomas & Mack Center on the campus of UNLV in Las Vegas, Nev.

-SDSU Head Coach Beth Burns: Burns (Ohio Wesleyan, 1979) is in the seventh year of her second stint as at San Diego State. She led the Aztecs for eight seasons from 1989 to 1997, before returning in 2005. She has an overall head coaching record of 346-243 in 20 seasons, while she is 265-178 in her 15 campaigns at SDSU.
-Air Force Head Coach Andrea Williams: Williams is in her second season as head coach of the Falcons. She has compiled a school record of 15-45 and owns a career mark of 27-80 in four years.
-Series History: San Diego State has dominated the series, sporting a 24-6 all-time record against Air Force. The Aztecs have won nine of the last 10, including a 75-62 come-from-behind victory on Jan. 21, and a 59-46 advantage in San Diego on Feb. 18. The two sides have never faced one another in MW tournament action.
