Four Cowgirls Basketball Players Garner Postseason Honors

Four members of the Wyoming Cowgirl basketball team, Kaitlyn Mileto, Chaundra Sewell, Ashley Sickles and Kayla Woodward, were recognized on Monday as the Mountain West announced the 2013 All-Conference Team.
"We always talk that without team success there is no individual success," said head coach Joe Legerski. "We've had a tremendous season with 23 wins and individually our players have been recognized by the league's coaches. I'm proud of the honors bestowed to Chaundra, Kayla, Ashley and Kaitlyn."
Sewell was a First Team All-MW selection for the first time in her career and named to the All-Defensive Team for the second year in a row. It's the third honor for Sewell as she was named Second Team All-MW last year and Honorable Mention All-Conference during her sophomore campaign. In addition to that, sophomore Kayla Woodward was selected Second Team All-Conference along with senior Ashley Sickles and sophomore Kaitlyn Mileto who were named Third Team All-Mountain West. It's the second honors for Woodward and Sickles during their career. Woodward was a Third Team pick last season while Sickles was named Honorable Mention a year ago. Mileto is a first time selection.
Sewell, from Broomfield, Colo., averaged a team leading 15.3 points and 9.3 rebounds per contest in Mountain West play. She ranked first in rebounding, third in field goal percentage, fourth in free throw percentage, sixth in blocked shots and scoring. She recorded double-figures in 22 of 29 games along with 11 double-doubles, which ranks ninth all-time in school history. Sewell was also named Mountain West Player of the Week three times during the season.
Woodward, a sophomore from Sheridan, Wyo., finished second on the team in both scoring (15.0 ppg) and rebounding (6.4 rpg) in Mountain West action. She was fourth in three-point field goal percentage, fifth three-point field goals made, seventh in scoring and assists, ninth in field goal percentage and 11th in rebounding Woodward was also named MW player of the week twice and tallied double-figures in 12 of 14 conference games.
Sickles earns All-Conference honors for the second year in a row as she is chosen Third Team All-Mountain West. For the conference season, she averaged 11.0 points and 4.8 rebounds along with 14 blocked shots. Sickles ranked eighth in field goal percentage and blocked shots and 18th in scoring.
Mileto from Colorado Springs, Colo. was selected Third Team All-Mountain West for the first time in her career. In league games, she was third on the team in scoring with 12.4 points per game while adding 2.9 rebounds. She ranked second in three-point field goals made, fourth in minutes played, eighth in three-point field goal percentage and 12th in scoring in league games.
The Cowgirls open up play at the 2013 Reese's Mountain West Tournament Thursday, March 14, in Las Vegas. Their first-round opponent will be the Colorado State Rams. Tip off is set for 9:30 p.m. Mountain Time at the Thomas and Mack Center.
