LAS VEGAS - New Mexico outscored UNLV 12-2 over the last 1:43 to turn a three-point lead into a 72-59 victory in a Mountain West Women's Basketball Championship quarterfinal contest.

The No. 8 Lobos (17-13), who trailed 19-8 in the first half, advance to Friday's semifinals with the victory. They will take on top-seeded San Diego State (25-5), 67-39 winners over Nevada in Thursday's first quarterfinal game. The semifinal tilt is scheduled for a Noon PT start on the Mountain West Network.

New Mexico sophomore guard Antiesha Brown led all scorers with 21 points. She was 5-of-7 from the floor and a perfect 10-of-10 from the free throw line. Brown is the third player in MW Championship history to go 100 percent from the foul line with a minimum of 10 attempts.

UNM senior Caroline Durbin scored her 1,000th career point during the game and finished with 17 points, giving her a career total of 1,007. Sara Halasz (13 points) and Deeva Vaughn (12 points) also reached double figures for New Mexico.

Vaughn added 11 rebounds to her stat line and the Lobos out-rebounded the Lady Rebels, 40-34.

UNLV (12-19) was led by freshman Réjane Vérin, who scored 19 points. Rmanii Haynes and Danielle Miller scored 12 points apiece for the Lady Rebels. Kelli Thompson, the MW's leading scorer during the regular season, was held to seven points.
