FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The Rams added another to their 2013-14 squad in Stine Austgulen Wednesday. Head Coach Ryun Williams made the announcement.

Austgulen, a native of Bergen, Norway, was a member of the Ulriken basketball team in the Norwegian Kvinneliga league. Voted Newcomer of the Year in 2010 and Talent of the Year in 2011 and 2012, Austgulen led her team to a national championship in last season, earning MVP in the Kvinneliga championship game in 2012. This year she earned a spot on the all-star team and led the team shooting 56.6 percent from the field, averaging 24.3 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.4 steals per game.

“We are very excited about Stine,” commented Head Coach Ryun Williams. “She is a strong guard who is extremely skilled and has a very high basketball IQ. She has been very productive over her career and is a proven winner. She is the cream of the crop in Norway and has a great maturity about her on the court.”

She led teams to championships with the U16 Norwegian National team (2008, 2009 and 2010), the U18 national team (2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012) and the U20 national team (2010 and 2011). She was named MVP with the U16 team in 2009 and 2010; and with the U18 team in 2009 and 2011. She also earned a spot on the national championship all-star team in each of her years with the three national teams.

Austgulen will join AJ Newton, Gritt Ryder, Emilie Hesseldal and Elin Gustavsson in the fall of 2013 at Colorado State.

The Rams anticipate signing three more athletes to complete their 2013-14 roster.
