May 25, 2012

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) -

The Southern Nevada Basketball Officials Association (SNOA) is pleased to announce a partnership with the UNLV Lady Rebels Basketball program and Head Coach Kathy Olivier to provide referee services at their Team Camp scheduled for June 22 to June 24, 2012 at the Cox Pavilion and Mendelhall Center.

The SNOA board is committed to not only training their existing members but is also actively recruiting new members especially women. “We want to increase the number of women who officiate high school basketball in Las
Vegas. This camp is a great opportunity for women to learn and participate in a rewarding experience of providing top notch referee services to the Clark County student athletes”, Ed Brown, Basketball Chairman states.

UNLV expects fifty (50) high quality West Coast high school, club and traveling teams to attend the camp and play great basketball. New and upcoming officials will officiate the games, receive classroom training and receive feedback from veteran officials to sharpen their officiating skills.

All men and women who are interested in learning more about becoming a high school basketball referee and attending the camp should contact John Turzer, SNOA Camp Administrator at JohnTurzer@aol.com or call toll free 855-223-3223.
