Chelsea Hopkins Headed to China with Netscouts Tour

SAN DIEGO - Former San Diego State star point guard Chelsea Hopkins (Las Vegas, Nev.) has been chosen to tour China with a team of USA all-stars organized and coached by Netscouts Basketball in the Four Nations Challenge, slated for June 17- 30.

Hopkins joins a squad comprised of 12 former collegiate players who will compete in a round-robin tournament against other all-star teams from China, Australia and Hungary.

A total of nine games are scheduled for three cities, with six contests to be played in Jiangxi Province (June 17-23), followed by three games in Changsu, Jiangsu Province (June 27-29). The American squad will then wrap up the tour with a pair of encounters against the Chinese U19 team in Beijing (June 29-30).

Hopkins was named the 2013 Mountain West Conference Player of the Year and received honorable mention All-America recognition after helping the Aztecs to a program-best 27-7 record and their second straight regular-season league title. Hopkins, who led the nation with four triple-doubles and finished seventh in assists during the 2012-13 campaign, also set an SDSU single-season record with 232 assists and completed her Aztec career with 442 helpers, which ranks fourth in school history.

Netscouts Basketball organizes and coaches all-star men's and women's teams which represent the United States in international basketball competition. This enables highly successful players who have recently completed their eligibility to represent their country, get an experience playing international basketball and provide an amazing cultural experience.
