The UNLV women's basketball team is looking to make it two straight wins to start the season when it hosts Arizona on Tuesday night at 7 pm in the Cox Pavilion. UNLV has won its first three games of the season in three of head coach Kathy Olivier’s first four years in Las Vegas.

This is the third straight year the Lady Rebels have played a team from the Pac-12, following Arizona a year ago and Oregon State in 2010-11. The last win for UNLV over a Pac-12 team, excluding Utah (former Mountain West member) was in the 2004 WNIT First Round, a 50-47 home win over Arizona State.

UNLV is one of the youngest and least experienced teams in the nation this year, with four new starters, three of which are underclassmen. Outside of Kelli Thompson, the rest of the team had a combined one collegiate start entering the season.

Tuesday’s contest is also the first game of the year in the Cox Pavilion, as UNLV opened the season next door in the Thomas & Mack Center. UNLV was 10-4 in the Cox last season.
