Women's Hoops Heads to the Pacific Northwest to Battle Washington

SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State women's basketball team embarks on a three-game road swing starting Wednesday, Dec. 5, with a trip to the Pacific Northwest where it will square off against Washington beginning at 7 p.m.

-SDSU Head Coach Beth Burns: Burns (Ohio Wesleyan, 1979) is in the eighth year of her second stint as head coach at San Diego State. She led the Aztecs for eight seasons from 1989 to 1997, before returning in 2005. She has an overall head coaching record of 353-246 in 20 seasons, and she is 272-181 in her 15 campaigns at SDSU.
-Washington Head Coach Kevin McGuff: McGuff (St. Joseph's, 1992) is in his second season with the Husky program, compiling an overall record of 25-15 on the Seattle campus. Under McGuff's guidance last year, Washington posted a 20-14 mark, its first winning ledger since 2006-07, highlighted a quarterfinal appearance in the WNIT. Prior to his appointment with the Huskies, McGuff was the head coach at Xavier where he led the Musketeers to postseason play in each of his nine seasons.
-Series History: The Aztecs and Huskies are meeting for just the second time ever. SDSU claimed a 63-51 victory at Viejas Arena last season as four of five starters for the Scarlet and Black scored in double figures.
