Fresno State defeated the USC Trojans 65-60 in a thrilling game to remain undefeated at the Save Mart Center last Wednesday night. Wednesday's game was a tale of two halves as each team faced a scoring drought and a sizable run against one another. Although, the `Dogs run in first half proved to be enough to withstand the Trojans second half surge. Fresno State held the lead in first half in all but one minute and 32 seconds. Fresno State responded to the Trojans first lead with a 14-0 run to close the half while forcing the Women of Troy to 15 consecutive missed field goals in the final eight plus minutes. Ki-Ki Moore Named Student Athlete of the Week
Ki-Ki Moore led Fresno State to a 2-1 record last week which included a win over Pac-12 school Washington State. She averaged 17.0 points and six rebound in the three games and had 10 assists and 11 steals. In the loss at Pacific, Moore paced the Bulldogs with 20 points and she had seven rebounds. Then two days later, she and the Bulldogs bounced back from the road loss to hammer Washington State at home. Moore scored 27 points on 11-of-20 shooting against her former team, whom she played for as a freshman in 2009-10 before transferring to Fresno State. Her 27 points was one shy of her career-high and she had six rebounds, seven assists and six steals her superb performance. What made that Washington State game more impressive is the fact she nearly didn't play. Moore was battling the stomach flu and it wasn't until the final minutes prior to the game that it was decided she would play. In the win over UT Arlington, Moore had four points and five rebounds in limited action, as the Bulldogs beat the Mavericks by 25 points
