Rebels Tie For 10th On Final Day

TARZANA, Calif. (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV women’s golf team finished tied for 10th in the Bruin Wave Invitational, which was being played at the El Caballero Country Club (par 72, 6131 yards) in Tarzana, Calif. The Rebels tied with Denver with an 86-over-par 950.

Sophomore Dana Finkelstein finished tied for 29th after shooting a final round 3-over 72 to finish at with a score of 17-over 233 for the tournament.

USC took the team title, shooting a final-round five-over to finish at 20-over 884. UCLA finished second at 22-over 886 and Arizona finished third at 32-over 896.

The Trojan’s Annie Park took home medalist honors after finishing at 1-under 215 for the tournament. Pepperdine’s Marissa Chow and UCLA’s Tiffany Lua tied for second at 3-over 219. Arizona’s Janie Jackson and UCLA’s Lee Lopez rounded out the top five at 4-over 220 and 5-over 221, respectively.

UNLV junior Charlotte Brooks finished 36th after a final round of 7-over 79 to finish the tournament at 21-over 237. Sophomore Mayko Chwen Wang finished tied for 42nd after shooting a 7-over 79 to finish at 24-over 240. Sophomore Marguerite Swearingen finished tied for 48th at 26-over 242 and junior Demi Mak finished tied for 60th at 31-over 247.

The tournament featured 15 teams and 81 individuals.
