ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Colorado State's Emily Roering got back on track Tuesday during the final round of play at the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational, ascending from a tie for 75th after Day 1 to crack the top 50 at the UNM Championship Golf Course.

"I am happy with the way Emily finished the tournament today," said interim head coach Susan Jennings.  "She was determined to play well."

Roering's determination led the redshirt junior to her first under-par round of the young season, as she hit 10 out of 14 fairways and 14 out of 18 greens, not to mention closing play with birdies on three of her last four holes.  Her final round of 72 (-1) moved her into a tie for 49th place, with a three-round score of 232 (+13).

Junior Christina Spinzig and redshirt freshman Mikayla Tatman finished three strokes off Roering's pace, tying for 62nd with a three-round total of 235 (+16).  Juniors Betsy Kelly (+21) and Sarah Roering (+33) also competed for the Rams, finishing 80th and tied for 91st, respectively.

Sophomore Jessa LaBarbera shot a 249 (+30) to finish tied for 88th as an individual.

"As a team we still struggled with our chipping and putting," added Jennings.  "We know what we have to work on before we leave for Missouri."

The Rams return to the competition Oct. 1-2 at the Johnie Imes Invitational, hosted by the University of Missouri in Columbia, Mo.
