TCU Heads To Central District Invitational

FORT WORTH, Texas -- The 36th-ranked TCU women's golf team returns to action Monday at the Central District Invitational in Parrish, Fla.
The 54-hole tournament, featuring 36 holes Monday and 18 Tuesday, will be played at the par 72, 6,099-yard River Wilderness Country Club. Monday's play begins with a 7 a.m. CST shotgun start. Live scoring is available at www.Golfstat.com.
In addition to TCU and host Michigan State, the 15-team field includes Coastal Carolina, Indiana, Iowa State, Kent State, LSU, Michigan, Minnesota, North Carolina, Northwestern, Ohio State, Oklahoma, UCF and Vanderbilt.
The Horned Frogs are playing in the Central District Invitational for the fourth straight year and fifth time in six springs. TCU was fourth at last year's event and second in 2010.
Beeler and Raastad will be playing in their fourth Central District Invitational.
At last year's tournament, Beeler carded a TCU record 7-under-par 65 in the opening round and held the individual lead through 36 holes before finishing second by just one stroke behind LSU's Austin Ernst.
Beeler's team-best 75.1 stroke average places fifth in the Mountain West. The senior from Butler, Ill., has two top-20 finishes this season.
Raastad, who has a 76.7 mark, tied for fourth at the 2010 Central District Invitational.
Nuutinen tops TCU with three top-20 finishes. Her 75.3 stroke average is second on TCU and sixth in the MW.
McCoy and Bonetti both have 76.2 stroke averages. McCoy will be playing in her first spring tournament after competing in all four fall events.
Beeler, Raastad, Nuutinen and Bonetti have played in all five tournaments this season.
