Women's golf preview: CSU heads to Westbrook Spring Invitational

FORT COLLINS, Colo. - The Colorado State women’s golf team will head to Peoria, Ariz., on Sunday to compete in the 12-team Westbrook Spring Invitational at Westbrook Village Golf Club. The Rams are coming off a disappointing showing at the UNLV Spring Invitational and hope to rebound at Westbrook. Both days will begin with 8:30 a.m. MST shotgun starts with two rounds on Sunday and the final round on Monday.
Westbrook Village Golf Club spans 6,178 yards and will play as a par 72.
In addition to CSU, the other 11 teams competing are Wisconsin, Eastern Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas State, Nebraska, Texas Tech, Idaho, UTEP and Washington State.
Rams at Westbrook Spring Invitational...
The Rams have not previously competed at the Westbrook Spring Invitational.
UNLV Spring Invitational...
CSU struggled to shake the rust from a nearly four-month break between the end of the fall season and the first round of the UNLV Spring Invitational in Boulder City, Nev., on Monday. The team finished 11th in the tournament.
Brianna Espinoza had a solid performance, finishing tied for 28th at +18 for the tournament. Espinoza was followed by Betsy Kelly (+21), Sarah Roering (+23), Jessa LaBarbera (+38) and Christina Spinzig (+43).
