Feb. 28, 2012

ORLANDO, Fla. -- After rallying from a two-stroke final-round deficit to win last week's Central District Invitational in Parrish, Fla., TCU women's golf has been named Golfweek's Team of the Week.

The Horned Frogs, who jumped 10 places to No. 34 in this week's national rankings by Golfstat, edged No. 25 Oklahoma by one shot for the title. TCU also finished ahead of three top-10 teams (No. 5 Vanderbilt, No. 6 North Carolina and No. 7 LSU).

It was the 14th tournament title for TCU in the 18-year tenure of head coach Angie Ravaioli-Larkin.

The Horned Frogs' final-round 296 was keyed by a 72 from Brooke Beeler and April McCoy's 73.

Sanna Nuutinen was TCU's top finisher, tying for sixth with a 2-over 218.
