Rebels Head Back To California

TARZANA, Calif. (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV women's golf team will continue its spring season this week, Monday, March 4 - Tuesday, March 5 at the Bruin Wave Invitational, which is co-hosted by Pepperdine and UCLA.

In its fourth year, the 54-hole event will take place at the par-72, 6,131-yard El Caballero Country Club with live scoring available at Golf Stat. Pepperdine won the event last year and Christine Wong of San Diego State took home individual honors.

The Rebels will open with a shotgun start on Monday at 8 a.m. and will play the final 18-holes on Tuesday with tee times starting at 7:30 a.m.

Competing for the Rebels will be Dana Finkelstein, Charlotte Brooks, Mayko Chwen Wang, Demi Mak and Marguerite Swearingen

The Rebels will be part of a 15-team field that includes Arizona, BYU, Denver, Hawai’i, Long Beach State, New Mexico, New Mexico State, Oklahoma State, Oregon State, Pepperdine, San Diego State, UCLA, USC and Washington State.

UNLV is coming of its fourth top-five finish of the season at the Cal Classic. The Rebels finished fifth with a score of 27-over 603. Finkelstein won her first Mountain West Women’s Golfer of the Week after tying for second, which was her career best.
