LAS VEGAS ( – The UNLV women’s golf team will resume action this coming weekend at The Battle at Rancho Bernardo Inn, March 18-20.

The second annual event will be held at the par-72, 6,312 yard Championship Golf Course at Rancho Bernardo over three days.

Every squad in the 16-team field enters the tournament ranked in the top 70 according to the latest Golfstat rankings. Joining No. 41 host San Diego State will be No. 3 Southern California, No. 6 Arizona State, No. 12 Texas A&M, No. 15 Arizona, No. 18 Washington, No. 19 California, No. 22 Pepperdine, No. 28 Texas, No. 34 Denver, No. 39 Tulane, No. 47 New Mexico, No. 54 UNLV, No. 62 Miami, No. 63 Costal Carolina and No. 69 Long Beach State.

The Rebels have posted finishes of second and fourth at the UNLV Spring Invitational and Bruin/Wave Invitational respectively. This weekend will mark the first of two final tournaments before UNLV heads to the Mountain West Championship in mid April.

Mayko Chwen Wang has finished inside the top 11 in each of the last two events and enters the weekend ranked eighth in scoring average in the Mountain West at 75.71. Classmate Dana Finkelstein is close behind at 75.94 strokes per round and captured Mountain West Golfer of the Month honors after a third place finish at the highly competitive UNLV Spring Invitational just under a month ago.

Katerina Prorokova, Bethany Calvo and Ellis Keenan will round out the UNLV starting five this weekend.
