UNLV's Finkelstein Earns WGCA's All-Region Team Honors

LAS VEGAS - UNLV sophomore Dana Finkelstein was named to the Women's Golf Coaches Association All-Region Team for the West Region the WGCA announced at its awards banquet in Athens, Ga.
Finkelstein was one of 13 players recognized from the West Region. She finished tied for 10th at 3-over-par 216 (75-71-70) at the NCAA West Regional which was held at the Stanford Golf Course.
The Mountain West Golfer of the Year had a stellar year, as she recorded five top-10 finishes. Her best finish, a tie for second, came at the Cal Invitational as she posted an even-par 144 (74-70).
The WGCA also named it All-Region teams for the Central and East Regionals along with handing out their individual awards. Southern California's Annie Park swept the top awards, winning the WGCA Player of the Year, Freshman of the Year and the Golfstat Cup after most recently capturing the NCAA Championship.
The WGCA, founded in 1983, is a non-profit organization representing women's collegiate golf coaches. It was formed to encourage the playing of college golf for women in correlation with a general objective of education and in accordance with the highest tradition of intercollegiate competition. Today, the WGCA represents over 500 coaches throughout the U.S. and is dedicated to educating, promoting and recognizing both its members and the student-athletes they represent.
