Fifteen MW Women's Golfers Earn NGCA All-American Scholar Distinction

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Fifteen Mountain West women's golfers were named to the 2012 National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) All-American Scholar Teams for Division I.
Six MW institutions that sponsor women's golf were recipients of the honor, led by New Mexico with a total of five honorees. Each of the 15 women's golfers was also named to the 2012 Academic All-MW team and received the league's 2011-12 Scholar-Athlete Award.
In addition, incoming members Fresno State and Nevada were represented, as the Bulldog's Madchen Ly and the Wolf Pack's Alex Borcherts were tabbed as All-American Scholar women's golfers.
A total of 602 women's collegiate golfers from NCAA Divisions I, II and III were recognized by the NGCA. The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team includes carrying a minimum 3.50 cumulative grade point average and competing in at least 50 percent (Division I) or 66 percent (Division II and III) of her institution's regularly-scheduled competitive rounds during the year.
