LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV women’s golf team received signed national letters of intent from Hsuan (Vivian) Chen and Avery French announced head coach Amy Bush. The two will be eligible for the Rebels starting with the 2013-14 season.
“We are extremely excited about our recruiting class,” Bush said. “Both players are great people that bring talent and passion for the game. Vivian does the things necessary to score well and she has an amazing attitude. Avery brings fantastic work ethic in the classroom and on the golf course.”
Chen is a native of Taichung, Taiwan and plays at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. Golfweek ranked her the No. 56 player in the 2013 class. She has recorded two wins as a junior, winning the 14th Annual Innisbrook Easter Classic in 2009 and, most recently, the Future Collegians World Tour that was held at Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club on Nov. 3-4, 2012.
French, a native of Valencia, Calif., is a senior at Dana Hills High School. She is a four-year letter winner under Phil Wilburton and finished first in the South Coast League as a sophomore, junior and senior.
