TCU Soccer Releases Five-Match Spring Schedule
Feb. 28, 2012
FORT WORTH, Texas – TCU women’s soccer team will play five matches this spring, including a pair at Garvey-Rosenthal Soccer Stadium, as announced by head coach Eric Bell Tuesday. The team has been busy with offseason training since January.
“We are excited to see what this team looks like when we play against someone other than ourselves,” Bell said. “I’m ready to get my first look at our program in a game atmosphere.”
The Horned Frogs’ spring will begin with a March 10 match against former Conference-USA rival Rice in Houston. TCU has claimed two of the last three meetings with the Owls.
The spring slate will continue as TCU will take on Tulsa in Lewisville, Texas on March 31. The match will help kickoff the 2012 Panda Cup, which runs March 31-April 6. The Purple and White haven’t played the Golden Hurricane since claiming a 2-0 win at Tulsa in 2006. TCU will remain on the road to battle cross-town rival SMU at the Dallas International Girls Cup on April 6.
TCU will wrap-up the spring with a pair of matches at Garvey-Rosenthal Soccer Stadium. The Frogs will welcome future Big 12 Conference foe Texas Tech to Fort Worth on April 14. The match is scheduled to kick-off at Noon.
The 2012 spring season will conclude with a home match against Texas State on April 21. TCU took down the Bobcats last fall in San Marcos, rattling off three-straight goals to earn the 3-1 decision.
