Cowgirl Soccer Set To Begin Spring Exhibition Season

The Wyoming Cowgirl soccer team will kick off its 2012 spring season on Sunday, March 4th by hosting the Wyoming Indoor Tournament. The Cowgirls will begin competition under first-year head coach Pete Cuadrado at 10 a.m. MT on Sunday, in the Wyoming Indoor Practice Facility.

"I am very excited to begin my coaching career with the University of Wyoming," Cuadrado said. "I am looking forward to getting to see our team compete and see where our strengths and weaknesses are at this point."

Wyoming soccer will begin its spring tournament schedule at home playing Denver on Sunday, at 10 a.m. It will play its second game of the day at 2:30 p.m. against Northern Colorado.

Following the Wyoming Indoor Tournament, the Cowgirls will travel to Greeley, Colo., for a game against Colorado College on Thursday, March 8th. The game time is set for 7:30 p.m.

The spring schedule will continue on Saturday, April 7th with the Regis University Tournament in Denver, Colo. The Cowgirls will play three games at the Regis tournament beginning at 10:15 a.m. against Northern Colorado. They will continue at 12:45 p.m. against Fort Lewis and concluded the tournament at 3:15 p.m. against Colorado Mesa.

The following Saturday, April 14th, the Cowgirls will travel to Provo, Utah for the BYU Spring Tournament, with the tournament schedule yet to be determined.

The Cowgirls final tournament of the spring will be the Colorado Mesa Tournament, Saturday, April 21st in Grand Junction, Colo. UW will play two games at the Colorado Mesa Tournament against Utah (12:30 p.m.) and Southern Utah (4:45 p.m.).

Wyoming's final spring event will be the annual Alumni Game on Sunday, April 22nd at 10 a.m., followed by the team banquet in the War Memorial Stadium Wildcatter Stadium Club and Suites. The Alumni Game is set to be played in the UW Indoor Practice Facility.
