Cowgirl Soccer Hires Volunteer Assistant Coach

LARAMIE, Wyo. - The Wyoming Cowgirl soccer team and head coach Pete Cuadrado announced Thursday the hiring of Joseph Cleary as volunteer assistant coach.
"We are excited to have Joe join our staff," Cuadrado said. "He brings excellent club and Olympic development experience. I am happy to have him and I look forward to him helping us this fall."
Cleary joins the Cowgirls after spending the 2011-12 season as an assistant coach with the University of Mary men's soccer team. Beginning in 2009 and continuing to 2012, Cleary was a member of the Dakota United Club coaching staff serving as the U-13 and U-14 boys head coach, and assisting the U-15 and U-17 squads. He helped lead all four teams to the Midwest Regional League. In 2010, he served as an assistant coach for the Dakota Olympic Development Program U-16 boys team.
"I am excited to join Pete, Levi (Evans) and Matt (Fannon) here at the University of Wyoming," Cleary said. "This is a great opportunity. I am looking forward to working with the coaching staff and team."
While serving as a club coach from 2009-12, Cleary also coached at Bismarck High School in Bismarck, N.D. From 2009-11, he coached the Bismarck Boys Junior Varsity team and assisted with the varsity squad. During the 2010 season, he also helped with the girls' varsity team.
Cleary recently graduated with an athletic training degree from the University of Mary. He has USSF National D and National Youth licenses.
