COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Five shutouts highlighted the day's action as the 2012 Mountain West women's soccer season got underway on Friday. Air Force, Boise State, Nevada, San Diego State and UNLV each held their respective opponents scoreless en route to victories, while New Mexico battled to a 1-1 tie with TCU. Fresno State and Wyoming were the only MW squads to suffer opening-day losses.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - New Mexico's Liz Nare headed in a free kick from Rachel Montoya with 11:20 to go in regulation to force a 1-1 tie in Friday's season-opener against TCU. DAVIS, Calif. - Fresno State fell 2-1 to UC Davis Friday night at the Aggie Soccer Field in the season opener for both squads. After staking the Aggies to a 2-0 lead, the Bulldogs got on the scoreboard in the 78th minute when Callie Hancock received the ball on the right side ahead of the defenders and put the ball past the keeper.
