Ranking The Rebels

Sept. 18, 2012

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - Thanks to a six-game win streak, the UNLV women's soccer has made its first appearance in the regional rankings since 2010, tied for 10th in this week's NSCAA Pacific regional rankings which were released on Tuesday.

UNLV is tied for 10th in the region, along with Arizona State and New Mexico. The Rebels started out the season with a 1-2-1 mark, but have won a school-record tying six straight since. Included in that run is a pair of double-overtime victories, highlighted by a 2-1 victory over Oklahoma and a 2-1 win this past weekend over Florida Gulf Coast. The ranking is the first for the Rebels since a similar ranking of 10th on Oct. 5, 2010.

Two Rebels are also appearing on the national charts as well, as junior Jenn Wolfe is tied for first in the nation in game-winners with five, while her nine goals ties her for fifth in the nation. Both marks lead the Mountain West conference. Also appearing is senior Macy Jo Harrison, who's six assists ties her for eighth in the nation, and second in the MW. Wolfe's nine goals already ties for sixth most ever in a season by a Rebel, while Harrison is one assist away from tying the school season mark.

UNLV will play one game this weekend, a Sunday, Sept. 23 contest against Idaho at 11:30 am at Peter Johann Memorial Field. The game will be streamed live on UNLVRebels.com, thanks to the UNLV TV student run production channel. Fans that bring a ticket stub from Saturday's UNLV-Air Force football game will receive free admission.
