Oct. 3, 2012
SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State women's soccer team moved up to No. 10 in the most recent National Soccer Coaches Association of America poll. The Aztecs are No. 14 in the Soccer America rankings and No. 13 in the Soccer Times poll. SDSU is the lone team from the Mountain West in all three polls.
The Aztecs still also sit at No. 3 in the NSCAA Pacific Region poll, trailing only UCLA (2) and Stanford (1). Fellow MW member New Mexico is also in the rankings at No. 9.
San Diego State, which moved up to No. 18 in TopDrawerSoccer.com's field of 64, opened Mountain West play last Friday with a 3-0 win over Nevada at the SDSU Sports Deck.
SDSU's success resulted in an Aztec receiving MW Player of the Week accolades for the sixth week this season. Sophomore Hannah Keane garnered honors on Monday as the forward recorded her second goal of 2012 against Nevada and also tallied her team-leading fifth assist to help San Diego State improve to 10-1-1.
The Aztecs return to action on Friday when they continue Mountain West play with a road contest at Boise State. The conference matchup is scheduled for a 4 p.m. MT start.
