Castain and DeVault Named MW Players of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.. --- Fresno State junior midfielder/forward Morgan Castain and San Diego State senior forward/midfielder Sarah Halverson have been selected Mountain West Women's Soccer Co-Offensive Players of the Week, while Fresno State sophomore goalkeeper Katie DeVault and UNLV junior goalkeeper Kylie Wassell share MW Defensive Player of the Week honors. This is the third career MW weekly award for Wassell, second for Halverson, and first for both Castain and DeVault.

Castain accounted for both goals as Fresno State earned its first Mountain West road victory with a 2-0 win at Wyoming last Saturday. The Castro Valley, Calif., native scored on her only two shot attempts, netting a goal in each half. She notched her first goal from 30 yards out in the 35th minute, while her second score came off of a rebound from the Wyoming goalkeeper at the 58:30 mark of the second half.

DeVault recorded her second solo shutout of the season in the Bulldogs' 2-0 road victory over Wyoming. The Orange, Calif., product made nine saves while pushing her streak of shutout minutes to 173:40 over the last two games.

The 'Dogs return to Bulldog Stadium this weekend for two Mountain West matchups. Fresno State takes on New Mexico on Friday at 7 p.m. and No. 10/14 San Diego State on Sunday at 1 p.m.
