Aztec Story Lines
- The second-seeded and fourth-ranked San Diego State women's soccer team will continue its journey in the NCAA Tournament this weekend. The Aztecs are set to face off with California on Friday, Nov. 16, in a second round match set for 7 p.m. PT at SDSU Sports Deck.

- The Aztecs will be looking to advance to the third round of the NCAA Tournament for just the second time in school history when they face off with the Golden Bears. In 1998, SDSU advanced to a third round matchup at Portland, but dropped a 5-0 decision.

- SDSU enters Friday's contest with California fresh off a 3-0 shutout win against Cal State Northridge last Saturday. Sophomore Hannah Keane, who was named to the Team of the Week on Monday, scored the game-winning goal in the 10th minute. Keane then added an assist on the next goal as she found senior Megan Jurado, who connected for her team-leading 15th score of 2012. Senior Sarah Halverson rounded out the scoring as she tallied a score at the 79:33 mark.

- With the win, the Aztecs move to 20-1-1, which marks the best win percentage (.932) in the NCAA this season. The 20 wins are also the most in program history, surpassing the 19 wins amassed by the 1998 NCAA Tournament squad.

- The Aztecs carry a season-long 14-game unbeaten streak into their second round NCAA Tournament contest with the Golden Bears, which is just two games shy of the program's longest in a single season (2009). Even more impressive is SDSU's current unblemished 13-0-0 mark at SDSU Sports Deck. At home, the Aztecs have tallied 11 shutouts and allowed just three goals.

- Megan Jurado leads SDSU this season with 15 goals and nine assists for a team-high 39 points. The senior's 15 goals and 39 points each rank second most in school history for a single season. In the NCAA rankings, Jurado is tied for fourth with seven game-winning goals this season. She is also tied for 11th in total goals (15), 13th in total points (39), 16th in points-per-game (1.77), T-24 in goals-per-game (0.68) and T-26 in total assists (nine).

- The San Diego State defense has allowed just 11 goals in 2012, with just one coming in the second half or in overtime. As a team, the Aztecs have a 0.49 goals-against average, which currently ranks first in the NCAA.

- A big part of that success is the stellar play of goalkeeper Rachel Boaz. The redshirt sophomore has a miniscule goals-against average of 0.466, which ranks fifth in the nation. The Murrieta, Calif., native has also tallied 11 shutouts this season and is just one away from setting the single-season record.

- Boaz sits near the top of the NCAA leaderboard due to, in part, the cohesiveness and steady play of the Aztecs' starting backline of Haley Palmer, Kory Spotts, Carli Johnson and Rachael McGlinchy. Johnson has played 1996 of the total 2015 minutes this season. In the last 720 minutes of action, meanwhile, McGlinchy (699), Spotts (693) and Palmer (664) have all logged consistent minutes.

Against the NCAA Field
San Diego State has played against five teams that advanced to this season's NCAA Tournament. In those contests, SDSU posted a record of 3-1-1 with its wins coming at nationally ranked Portland, vs. then-No.5 Pepperdine and Arizona State. The tie occurred at Santa Clara, while the lone loss came at the hands of current No. 1 Stanford in a game played at a neutral site.

A Win  Would...
- ... Give San Diego State its most victories in a NCAA tournament (two).
- ... Improve the Aztecs' all-time NCAA Tournament record to 4-3.
- ... Extend the Aztecs' winning streak to 14.
- ... Set up a matchup with either No. 6 ULCA (16-2-2) or Kentucky (14-6-1)
