Final Stats

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – The University of Nevada softball team had 13 hits and scored 12 runs while shutting out Rutgers to win its final game at the Mustang Classic on Sunday.

The 12-0 run rule victory was Nevada’s fourth win of the weekend in five contests and leaves the Wolf Pack at 13-12. Rutgers fell to 7-8 with the loss. Nevada has won three straight games, its longest winning streak of the season.

Erin Jones led the way for the Pack, going 4-for-4 with three doubles. Home runs from Megan Sweet (3) and Megan Fincher (5), also helped the Pack run away from the Scarlet Knights. Sweet was 2-for-4 with two RBI and a walk, while Fincher finished the morning at 1-for-2 with three RBI and a walk. Sweet also scored four runs.

Sara Parsons continued her hot hitting, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

The Pack jumped on Rutgers early, scoring twice in the first and never looking back. Fincher’s blast was part of a five-run fourth that put the game out of reach.
