`Dogs Fall to Aztecs 3-2

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The Fresno State softball team fell to San Diego State 3-2 on Saturday afternoon at the SDSU Softball Stadium. The Bulldogs (26-22, 7-7 MW) recorded five hits. Sophomore Brenna Moss led with two base knocks and a RBI.
Right-hander Hannah Harris threw her fifth complete game of her debut season. She struck out one in her 16th start.
Vonnie Martin gave the Bulldogs the lead in the first inning. She hit a single up the middle driving in a run and the `Dogs led 1-0. The Aztecs answered by loading the bases in the bottom half of the inning. Harris and the `Dogs defense got out of the jam with an out at home and a ground out.
The Aztecs answered with a run on a sacrifice fly in the second inning to tie the game 1-1. SDSU took the lead in the fourth inning after scoring two runs on a ground rule double and headed to the fifth inning with a 3-1 lead over Fresno State.
In the fifth inning, Moss plated another Bulldog run with a single to right center field as the Bulldogs trailed 3-2.
Taylor Green pinch hit for Fresno State in the seventh inning and got on base with a single through the left side to put the tying run on base. The Aztecs recorded the final out to seal the win 3-2.
The Bulldogs conclude the series against San Diego State on Sunday, April 28 at 1 p.m.
