Feb. 14, 2013

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV Rebels stay in Las Vegas for the second straight week of the 2013 softball season with this weekend's Easton Desert Classic. The four-day tournament (Feb. 14-17) will be contested at both UNLV's Eller Media Stadium and at Stephanie Lynn Craig Park in nearby Henderson.

Coming to Las Vegas to join the Rebels are four top 25 teams - #7/9 Oregon, #8/9 California, #18/19 UCLA and #20/23 Hawai'i - and 13 other collegiate teams from around the country. Both Oregon and California reached the Women's College World Series in Oklahoma City last season.

The Big West will have three of its own in town - Cal State Fullerton, Hawai'i and Long Beach State. The Mountain West (UNLV and Nevada, Reno), Pacific Coast Softball Conference (BYU and Utah Valley), WAC (San Jose State and Seattle) and Big Sky (Idaho State and Portland State) will have two apiece, while the Sun Belt (Louisiana-Monroe) and MAC (Ohio) will have one each.

There will be a total of 15 games played at Eller Media Stadium beginning Thursday. The SLC Park complex will be the site of 31 more games starting early Friday morning at 9:00 am.
