UNLV will play twice on both Friday and Saturday and once on Sunday.
The Rebels open up the tournament with a contest on Friday, Feb. 24 at noon against Nevada, Reno. They follow that with a game vs. San Diego, a team they played three times in 2011, at 2:30 pm.
On Saturday, Feb. 25, UNLV plays the host Gauchos of UCSB at 9:30 am before a noon affair vs. Houston.
The Scarlet & Gray conclude its stay by the ocean against San Diego on Sunday, Feb. 26 at noon.
THE LAST OUT(ING): The UNLV Rebels opened up the 2012 campaign last weekend in their own Sportco Kick-Off Classic, and went 2-2 overall.
UNLV lost both of its games on the first day of the tournament to Oklahoma and Weber State. OU claimed the contest by a 5-0 decision after its offense broke open a scoreless game in the fifth. Weber State, on the other hand, jumped out to an early 6-0 lead en route to an 11-5 win.
The Rebels turned things around in their final two outings with a 2-1 win over Minnesota and a 6-2 victory over CSU Bakersfield. Both wins were greatly aided by the long ball. Tayler Van Acker hit a two-run shot to put UNLV up for good against UM, while Pauline Monreal hit a pair of her own and notched four RBI in the triumph over CSUB. Samantha Juarez joined Monreal in the home run barrage with her first-career dinger.
