CSU softball announces schedule change for Wednesday's rivalry matchup

March 5, 2013

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – First pitch for Wednesday’s softball game between in-state rivals Colorado State and Northern Colorado has been moved up 30 minutes.

The game, which was originally scheduled for a 4 p.m. MT first pitch at Ram Field, will now begin at 3:30 p.m. MT.

Colorado State (8-12) is looking to snap a three-game losing streak that included a 6-3 battle against No. 18 Washington as part of the Rams’ Colorado State Classic last weekend.

Northern Colorado enters Wednesday’s game with a 7-10-1 mark, and is coming off of a hard-fought loss at Texas Tech, 8-7, as part of the Red Raiders’ Texas Tech Invitational.

The matchup is the first of two this year between the Rams and the Bears.  UNC will also host Colorado State at Butler-Hancock Softball Field on April 17.

Under third-year head coach Jen Fisher, Colorado State is 6-2 against Northern Colorado, including her first win at the helm of the Rams’ program, an 8-3 decision at the 2011 Hotel Encanto Invitational in Las Cruces, N.M. The Rams swept four games against the Bears in 2012.

Admission to all Colorado State softball home games at Ram Field is free. Fans unable to attend CSU home games can utilize Gametracker live scoring at CSURams.com, or follow @CSUSoftball and @CSURamsGameday on twitter for in-game updates.
