New Mexico entered the ESPN.com/USA Softball top-25 poll for the first time this season, coming in at No. 23 this week. The Lobos are also ranked for the third consecutive week in the USA Today/NFCA Top-25 poll with a No. 24 listing.

Notables:

  • New Mexico ranks No.1 in the nation in home runs per game with 1.9. The Lobos have 39 so far this season. UNM also ranks in the top-10 nationally in slugging percentage (2nd - .636), scoring (2nd - 8.65), triples per game (6th - .45), and batting average (10th - .347).

  • San Diego State's Hayley Miles leads the Aztec offense in almost every single offensive category, including games started (30), runs (30), hits (36), doubles (12), triples (1, tied), total bases (68), walks (13) and on-base percentage (.458). The sophomore shortstop also has six home runs and 18 RBI as the leadoff hitter.

  • Boise State's Tara Glover has hit a school-record three triples this season. She is tied for first in the Mountain West and 14th nationally.

  • New Mexico has run-ruled six teams so far this season: Northwestern on Feb. 11, 13-5 (5); Bryant on Feb. 17, 15-1 (5); Northern Colorado on Feb. 18, 11-3 (5); No. 16 Texas A&M on Feb. 23, 15-3 (6); North Dakota on March 2, 8-0 (6) and CSU Bakersfield on March 2, 8-0 (6).

  • Boise State's Tara Glover had a 10-game hitting streak snapped vs. Northern Illinois on March 10. That marked the second double-digit hitting streak for Glover this season after she hit safely in the first 12 games of the year. The sophomore centerfielder is the only player in program history with mulitple hitting streaks of 10 or more games in a career. She has hit safely in 23 of the Broncos' 25 games this year.

  • Boise State's Christina Capobianco hit two home runs against Howard on March 2, extending her school-record career tally to 35.
