Snowstorm forces CSU softball schedule change

March 22, 2013

Updated Schedule/Tournament Central

The expected snowstorm hit Fort Collins Friday afternoon, forcing Colorado State to suspend play against Ball State and postpone its game against Columbia.

The game was called in the top of the third inning after visibility became an issue for the players. At that point, Ball State was up to bat and was leading 6-0. The game was the fourth of the tournament, and third of the day. CSU was also scheduled to play Columbia Friday afternoon.

Forecasts for the remainder of the weekend don’t look much better, but CSU hopes to get in as much action as possible.

Three games will still take place on Saturday, beginning with the resumed CSU-Ball State game, at 11:15 a.m. MT. That will be followed with CSU vs. Columbia (approximately 1:30 p.m.), and Ball State vs. Columbia (approximately 3:45 p.m.).

Sunday’s two previously scheduled games will remain on Sunday. The revised schedule would allow all four teams to play each other once.

Ball State is 1-0 following a 15-5 win over Marist Friday morning. Marist is 1-2 after defeating Columbia on Friday, which is 0-1.
