Rebels Host Fresno State This Weekend

LAS VEGAS ( - The UNLV Rebels open up their home portion of the 2013 Mountain West season this weekend with a visit from conference newcomer Fresno State. The three-game series is scheduled for April 5-7 (Friday-Sunday) against the Bulldogs.

Friday's contest is slated for a 6:00 pm first pitch while Saturday and Sunday will both start at 1:00 pm.

All three games will be streamed live on in cooperation with broadcasts produced by UNLV's Greenspun School of Journalism and Mass Media.

This is the Bulldogs first season competing in the MW after playing the past 20 years in the Western Athletic Conference (WAC). FS won the WAC regular-season title 10 times with eight of those coming in a nine-year span (1998-2006).

PROMOTION SCHEDULE: The UNLV Rebels will have two promotions in conjunction with this weekend's series against Fresno State. On Friday, all tickets are 2-for-1 while Saturday's game features two promos in one. Fans can bring canned goods for $2 admission or they can wear red and white for $4 admission.

As always, children 12 and under are free at Rebel softball games.

ON DECK: The UNLV Rebels stay in Las Vegas for another three-game home stand in Mountain West play scheduled against the New Mexico Lobos on April 12-14.

The UNLV-UNM series is mixed into the "Scarlet & Gray Weekend," which includes UNLV football's Spring Showcase (Friday), UNLV Athletics' Apparel Sale (Saturday) and UNLV baseball's "Governor's Series" against Nevada, Reno (Friday-Sunday).
