CSU softball to change venues for key Mountain West series
April 18, 2013
FORT COLLINS, Colo. – A snow storm that dropped more than 20 inches of snow in the northern Colorado area Monday-Wednesday, has forced the Colorado State softball team to change venues for this weekend’s pivotal Mountain West series against Fresno State.
The three-game series between the Rams and the Bulldogs, originally scheduled for one game each Friday-Sunday at CSU’s Ram Field, will now be played Saturday-Sunday at Mountain Lion Field, located at 5025 N. Nevada Ave., in Colorado Springs, Colo., the home of the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs Mountain Lions.
The revised schedule includes a Saturday double header beginning at 1 p.m. MT, with Game 2 slated to begin immediately following the conclusion of the first contest. The series will wrap up on Sunday with the third game also set for a 1 p.m. first pitch.
Colorado State (18-19, 4-2 MW) sits in a virtual tie with Fresno State (25-18, 6-3 MW) for second place in the Mountain West standings, a half-game behind league-leading San Diego State (27-14, 5-1 MW), heading into this week’s action.
As with all CSU softball home games in Fort Collins, parking and admission will be free of charge. Fans unable to catch the action in person can also utilize CSU’s free Gametracker live stats feed on the softball schedule page at CSURams.com, and follow along on twitter: @CSUSoftball and @CSURamsGameday.
