Softball Heads to Boise State For Weekend Series

The San Diego State softball team resumes Mountain West play this weekend with a three-game series at Boise State.
The Aztecs (27-14), who lead the league with a 5-1 mark, and the Broncos (17-22-1, 1-5 MW) are slated to play at 3 p.m. PT Friday, 3 p.m. PT Saturday and 1 p.m. PT Sunday. The three games wrap up a season-long nine-game road trip for SDSU.
Nine of San Diego State's 12 losses this season have come against nationally ranked schools, including four vs. 2012 Women's College World Series teams. Additionally, the Aztecs have played 16 teams who made last year's NCAA tournament.
Junior Lorena Bauer (San Diego/Steele Canyon HS) continues to lead the SDSU offense in batting average (.408), hits (51), doubles (13), RBIs (36), slugging percentage (.760) and on-base percentage (.460), while leading the MW in slugging percentage and total bases (95).
Junior Patrice Jackson (Kansas City, Mo.) is hitting .374 with a league-high 11 homers to go along with 28 RBIs and 24 runs. Senior Kamerin May (Corona, Calif.) (.347, 3 HR, 22 RBI), sophomore Kayla Jordan (San Diego/Bonita Vista HS) (.331, 5 HR, 19 RBI, 30 R, 9 SB) and senior Kristin May (Corona, Calif.) (.314, 17 RBI, 10 2B) are also hitting over .300 (min. 82 plate appearances) for San Diego State, which is collectively hitting .303.
Freshman left-hander Danielle O'Toole (Upland, Calif.) (10-5, 1.64 ERA, 115.1 IP) and senior right-hander Rebecca Arbino (Clovis, Calif.) (16-9, 1.88 ERA, 152.2 IP) rank first and second in the Mountain West in ERA and back a pitching staff that easily leads the conference ERA at 1.94 (Fresno State is second at 2.69).
