COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - San Diego State sophomore shortstop Hayley Miles and junior righthander Rebecca Arbino have been named Mountain West Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, for games through April 22. This is the second career MW weekly accolade for both Miles and Arbino.

Miles batted .727 from her leadoff position while helping San Diego State to a 4-0 record on the road last week, including a three-game sweep of Mountain West opponent New Mexico. The Antelope, Calif., native registered at least two hits in three of the four contests, counting five home runs among her eight hits for a slugging percentage of 2.091. She also drew seven walks (one intentional) and was hit by a pitch to post a .842 on-base percentage. Miles scored 10 times and drove in eight runs, and also was perfect in 21 fielding changes at shortstop. Three of Miles' five home runs came in her first at-bat in three consecutive games (vs. San Diego, Games 1 and 2 vs. New Mexico). In a 5-0 win at San Diego on Wednesday, Miles was 3-for-3 at the plate with one home run, one walk, two runs scored and an RBI. On Friday, she opened the three-game series at New Mexico with another 3-for-3 performance, finishing with two homers, four RBIs, three runs scored and two walks in an 8-3 victory. In Saturday's 12-6 win, she went 2-for-3 with two home runs, three RBIs, four runs scored and two walks. On Sunday, Miles went without a hit in the 7-0 victory, but scored one run after reaching base safely three times on two walks and a hit-by-pitch.

Arbino went 2-0 with a 1.75 ERA in two appearances as San Diego State registered its second straight MW series sweep. The Clovis, Calif., product got the start in Games 1 and 3 at New Mexico, scattering 10 hits over 12 innings of work while recording five strikeouts and two walks. In Friday's opener, she picked up the win after giving up three earned runs on four hits over five innings. She struck out three and gave up one walk en route to the 8-3 victory. In Sunday's series finale, Arbino shut out the Lobos in a complete-game effort, surrendering six singles and one walk while fanning two batters. In her two appearances, Arbino held a New Mexico lineup that entered the weekend with a .309 batting average to just .217.
