Aztecs Travel to Cal State Fullerton; Host Boise State in Big MW Series
The San Diego State softball team looks to continue its season-long eight-game winning streak this week when it travels to Cal State Fullerton at 6 p.m. PT Wednesday and plays host to Boise State in a three-game series this weekend at SDSU Softball Stadium.

The weekend series between the Aztecs (26-19, 6-0 MW) and the Broncos (32-16, 6-3 MW) (6 p.m. PT Friday, 1 p.m. PT Saturday on The Mtn., and 1 p.m. PT Sunday) could decide the regular season title and automatic bid into the NCAA tournament. SDSU needs two wins in the three-game series to guarantee at least a share of the conference title, while a sweep would guarantee the team's first outright title since 2008. BSU, meanwhile, could capture a share of the title and earn the bid into the tournament by sweeping San Diego State. Regardless, the Aztecs still have three games next week at UNLV (0-6 MW).

But first up for SDSU is the Titans (19-25, 7-8 Big West). The two teams are playing for the second straight Wednesday night. Last week, San Diego State run-ruled CSUF, 10-0, in five innings behind a two-hit shutout by senior Bailey Micetich (Woodland, Calif.) and 13 hits by the offense. Redshirt sophomore Patrice Jackson (Kansas City, Mo.) homered, doubled and drove in a career-high five runs, while sophomore Hayley Miles (Antelope, Calif.) was 2-for-3 with a home run, double and two runs.

Miles has already set eight single-season records and needs one home run to break another. She is currently ranked among the top 26 in the nation in six categories, including top-10 marks in doubles per game (seventh, 0.36), slugging percentage (eighth, .894) and runs per game (ninth, 1.13). Senior Justeen Maeva (San Diego/Mira Mesa HS) (6 HR, 35 RBI) and sophomore Lorena Klopp (San Diego/Steele Canyon HS) (11 HR, 28 RBI) are each hitting .333 for the Aztecs.

Redshirt junior Rebecca Arbino (Clovis, Calif.) (12-8, 2.16 ERA, 132.2 IP) and Micetich (12-6, 2.30 ERA, 128.0 IP) lead a pitching staff that has nine shutouts.
