UNM's Garcia, SDSU's Miles Honored as Easton All-Americans

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - New Mexico senior catcher Jessica Garcia and San Diego State sophomore shortstop Hayley Miles have been honored as Easton Second-Team All-America selections, it was announced today. A total of 31 student-athletes were recognized across two All-America teams. The Mountain West was one of eight conferences to be represented by multiple student-athletes.

Garcia, a 2012 all-Conference selection, posted the MW's second-highest batting average (.448) while leading the league with 24 home runs and 69 RBIs this season. The Rancho Cucamunga, Calif., native was also second in the MW in hits (81) and fifth in runs scored (47). Garcia also received NFCA Third-Team All-America accolades.

Miles, a native of Antelope, Calif., was third in the league in hitting (.429) and scored a Conference-best 62 runs this season. The 2012 MW Co-Player of the Year also registered the MW's top on-base percentage (.519) while ranking second in walks (34) and slugging percentage (.909), tied for second in runs batted in (49), and third in hits (75) and home runs (20). Miles was also named a NFCA Third-Team All-American.
