FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State head softball coach Trisha Ford will spend part of her summer coaching the USA Junior Women's Softball team. She will serve as an assistant coach for the national junior team along with former Bulldog and four-time Olympian Laura Berg.

"It's a real honor to represent our country and the Red Wave on the national stage," said Ford of coaching the junior national team. "It is going to be a fun summer full of softball and traveling. I am excited for the opportunity, especially to be able to coach alongside former Bulldog Laura Berg."

Cal State Northridge head coach Tairia Flowers will lead the Red, White and Blue with Ford, Berg and UNLV head coach Lisa Dodd assisting.

The national junior team is made up of 17 young student-athletes and three alternates from 10 different states, including seven from California.

The USA Junior team opens competition with exhibition games in West Virginia, June 24-26, before heading to the International Softball Federation X Jr. Women's World Championship in Canada from July 1-7.
