Tennis Completes Day Two of Cal Winter Invite

FRESNO, Calif. --- The Fresno State women's tennis team wrapped up action on day two at the Cal Winter Invite as they faced Santa Clara in singles and Cal in doubles.

The 'Dogs split the six singles points with Fresno State's share coming from the bottom half of the lineup. Freshman Sophie Watts picked up a point by winning two close sets 7-5, 6-4. Anne Susdorf added another win for the 'Dogs, cruising in the first set 6-1 and clinching the win in a second set tiebreaker 7-6(5). Senior Bianca Modoc secured a solid 6-2, 6-1 victory for the 'Dogs third point. Two of the three top half of the lineup losses came in three sets with Rana Sherif falling 4-6, 6-3, 4-6 and Melissa McQueen dropping 6-3, 4-6, 3-6.

In doubles, the 'Dogs faced a tough Cal team that took all three doubles points (results below).
