Women's Tennis Falls to BYU 5-2

Reno, Nev. - The University of Nevada women's tennis team dropped it first dual match of the year on Friday as it fell to the BYU Cougars by a score of 5-2.
The Wolf Pack (0-1) fell to the Cougars (3-0) to drop their first of the season. In total, the Pack earned three victories, two by junior Michelle Okhremchuk. In singles, she defeated Morgan Andersonin three sets 4-6, 6-4, 6-4. Her other victory came as a team in doubles with partner Emma Verberne, as they held on to defeat the team of Nicolette Tran and Meghan Sheehan-Dizon 8-7 (5). The third victory came from Sheila Smiley, as she also went three sets before holding on to defeat Mackenna Maddox 6-3, 6-4, 6-4.
"It was a tough day, but they are a good team," head coach Guillaume Tonelli said. "We were able to get a couple victories, but there's a reason they are undefeated."
The Wolf Pack is in action again Feb. 15 against the Idaho Vandals starting at 2:30 P.M.
