Women's Tennis Completes Perfect Day

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The 57th-ranked UNLV women's tennis team completed a perfect Saturday with a second 7-0 victory, this time over former Big West Conference-rival Pacific at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.
The Lady Rebels evened their record at 2-2 while the Tigers fell to 2-2.
UNLV took both completed doubles matches to earn a 1-0 lead. Aleksandra Josifoska and Janine Erasmus downed Regina Suarez and Gergana Boncheva 8-2 at the second spot while Iren Kotseva and Anett Ferenczi-Bako got by Susan Te and Christina Ferrari, 8-5, on court three. The match at No. 1 was abandoned.
In singles, Josifoska, ranked 20th in the nation, defeated Iveta Masarova, 7-6, 6-2, at the top spot; Lucia Batta downed Hana Ritterova, 6-2, 6-2, at No. 2; Nives Pavlovic topped Te, 6-3, 6-2, at No. 3; and Kotseva downed Ferrari, 6-4, 6-0 at No. 4. The final two matches went to super-tiebreakers and UNLV claimed both as Ferenczi-Bako rallied past Boncheva, 2-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-8) on court five and Ella Bourchier fought off Suarez, 2-6, 7-5, 1-0 (10-7), at the sixth spot.
The Lady Rebels return to the courts Sunday when they host Weber State staring with doubles at 10 a.m. Admission to all matches is free of charge.
