Women's Tennis Blanks UC Riverside

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV women's tennis team cruised past UC Riverside 4-0 to complete a doubleheader sweep Saturday at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.

The Lady Rebels won their fifth straight to improve to 8-3 on the year. They had downed Utah State earlier in the day by the same score.

The teams started with singles and did not need to play doubles as UNLV clinched it by taking the first four completed matches.

Lucia Batta, ranked 90th in the nation, improved to 20-5 overall and 10-0 in duals with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Taylor Raney at the second spot; Nives Pavlovic fought off Natalie McKay, 6-4, 6-1, at No. 3; Iren Kotseva whitwashed Kate Bergeson, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 5; and Ella Bourchier downed Thanh Doan, 6-0, 6-2, on court six.

Next up, UNLV hosts Washington State in a rare Tuesday match, starting with doubles play at 10 a.m. Admission to all matches is free of charge.
