Women's Tennis Drops 5-2 Decision To No. 45 TCU

SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State women's tennis team was unable to win its third straight in Mountain West play as it dropped a 5-2 decision to No. 45 TCU on Saturday afternoon at Fertitta Tennis Complex on the campus of UNLV. With the loss, SDSU falls to 6-7 and 2-1 in conference play, while the Horned Frogs improve to 10-5 and 3-0 in MW play.

In singles play, the Aztecs notched wins at number one and five. Julia Wais earned a big 6-2, 6-4 victory against No. 67 Stefanie Tan. Alicia Aguilar, meanwhile, defeated Millie Nichols by the score of 7-5, 6-3.

SDSU picked up one win in doubles play, as Alicia Aguilar and Julia Wais earned a 9-7 victory against Kelsey Sundaram and Federica Denti.

The Aztecs return to action tomorrow when they face New Mexico. The conference matchup is scheduled for a 10 a.m. PT start at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.
