UNLV Downs Boise State

SAN DIEGO (UNLVRebels.com) - The 71st-ranked UNLV women's tennis team evened its conference record at 1-1 with a 5-2 win over Boise State on Saturday in a neutral-site matchup at the Aztec Tennis Center.

The Lady Rebels improved to 11-6 overall while the Broncos dropped to 10-6 and 1-1 in the Mountain West.

UNLV started the morning by sweeping three doubles matches for a 1-0 lead.

In singles, the Lady Rebels took four straight-set matches. Aleksandra Josifoska, ranked 32nd, downed Sandy Vo at the top spot, 6-1, 6-3; Lucia Batta, ranked 90th, swept Marlena Pietzuch at the second position, 7-5, 6-3; Nives Pavlovic defeated Teal Vosburgh at the No. 3 spot, 6-3, 6-4; and Janine Erasmus doubled up Megan LaLone, 6-3, 6-3, on court five.

Next up, UNLV will finish its trip to San Diego by taking on New Mexico Sunday morning.
