COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The University of Nevada women's tennis team could not overcome No. 39 San Diego State, and fell in its semifinal match on Saturday by a score of 4-1.

The No. 4 seed Wolf Pack (12-7) was eliminated from the Mountain West Tournament by the top-seeded Aztecs (22-4) with the loss. Nevada snatched only one victory in singles on the day, as Sheila Smiley cruised past Kristin Buth in straight sets 7-5, 6-2. Head coach Guillaume Tonelli was proud of his teams season, regardless of the finish.

"This team battled hard all year, playing nearly all of our games on the road," he said. "It's tough for our student-athletes to always be on the road and I am extremely happy with how we played this season."
