FORT COLLINS, Colo. - The Colorado State women’s tennis team will travel to Lincoln, Neb., on Saturday, Feb. 16, to take on Illinois State at 11 a.m., and No. 15 Nebraska on Sunday, Feb. 17, at 11a.m., for its first road matches of the 2013 spring season.
The Rams lost a tough match Sunday against in-state rival Colorado 6-1. In that match freshman Abby Stevens notched her first career victory at the No. 4 position, against Colorado senior Erin Sanders. Stevens lost the first set of the match 2-6, before taking the next set 6-3 and the tie-breaker 10-3. "Even though we weren’t satisfied with the result of the match, we were satisfied with the effort," said head coach Jon Messick "We played hard on every court, and I really thought the players fought for it on each and every point."
